Dreaming of a Tropical Birthday
Toni here with you today, celebrating my birthday with a bright and colorful tropical card. Could it be a sneak of a certain challenge that starts this coming Wednesday? Maybe. LOL.
I started out with a sunset hued panel that I worked up using Distress Ink Mermaid Lagoon, Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade, and Wilted Violet on Ranger Watercolor Paper. I then stenciled Carta Bella Crab Crawl using Distress Blueprint Sketch. It's interesting how different the blue looks depending on the color beneath it, right? I then spattered the lot with water using my go-to Zig H2O Detail Watercolor Brush.
Setting that aside to dry, I next sponged the Hero Arts Waves Stencil using Distress Oxide Broken China. The pigment blend shows up beautifully on that dark cardstock. I cut a narrow band of Kraft Cardstock, lightly sponged with Distress Ink Vintage Photo, to use as sand.
Next I diecut the HA Palm Tree from my watercolor crab panel, fluffed up the leaves a bit then glued it down onto the main panel. Some blingy Mark Richards 5mm and 3mm Gold Dots and a fun YNS sentiment diecut finishes off my card.

Challenge #6 Winners & More Inspiration
A couple of days late for announcing the Challenge #6 winners--let's blame it on crazy holiday preparations! The entries were all amazing and it was really hard to narrow down our top 3. Really hard!
The winner is #1 Claire Broadwater! Congratulations, Claire! We loved the woodgrain and bold plaid in this fun masculine card!
The honorable mentions were amazing too. Congratulations in order of entry to #12 Cris G and #14 Karin Akesdotter! Everyone, please grab a badge from the top tab if you like.
There's still plenty of time to join in our current challenge #7 which runs through December 31. Hope to see you there!
