Hi Tonya here letting you know that you still have time to join in on this month's challenge! It's a super fun one for me as I have always loved maps. I made this quick and masculine card to give my son. I always tell him he is my favorite child and he replies "but mom I am your only child!" He's 28 now and I still say it to him. 😀
I used a map page from the Sail Away Paper Pad and I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink and then wanted it to have a little more dimension so heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I had planned on using the Neat & Tangled Hope Anchors the Soul stamp but grabbed the wrong stamp. I hate it when I do that. Too many ideas going around my brain plus a messy craft room = I get sidetracked and things get weird. Still the card looks good so I'm going with it! Can you tell I really need a vacation?
Did someone say VACATION?!! I will be going on Spring Break soon and to celebrate The Heart Desires is having a sale while I am gone.
Thank you for stopping by, I hope you will join our challenge you still have four more days to get crafty!

Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop
I'm excited to share that The Heart Desires is a super sponsor again for the Spring Coffee Lovers Blog Hop! Please join along for fun, creativity, inspiration and tons of prizes!
To celebrate the hop in the store we are having a sale! Actually there will be two sales this way you can choose your discount.
10% off everything from March 23 to the 28 use code: Springcoffeehop2017
If you are not in a hurry, order from March 29 thur April 8 and use code: Springbreak2017 you will get 17% off everything! Anything ordered while I'm on vacation will start shipping out on Monday April 10th.
My project today uses those new Spring cups from Starbucks that come in some lovely colors. I saw where several people were drawing on their cups and my drawing is... well lets just say I never got much farther than stick figures when drawing was involved. So since I have lots of stamps I thought I would try those out on the cups and it worked!
I stamped the cup with a Simon Says Stamp sentiment stamp and Hero Arts Ombre Ink and I think it turned out great! So great that I actually did two more cups that I will try to post this week. I thought this was fun to do and pretty quick too!
I will probably use this cup about four times before I have to toss it. I find they last longer if you don't put them in the microwave so if you want to reheat your drink I would put it in a glass cup to reheat.
I hope you all have a lot of fun hopping this week!
Thanks for stopping by!

Greetings from Seattle
Hey, hey! Katie here! What can I tell you, I love the Pacific Northwest. One big reason is that The Heart Desires store is here- yay! But also because I love the water and the green trees and so much more.
So today I have a card for you that embodies the PNW.
I used this great textured background. I used a background die for the sun. I stamped and colored the boat and added the greeting. Easy Peasy.
This card features:
We are Memory Keepers- Next Level Embossing Folder- Geometric
This seems appropriate to enter into our current challenge don't you think?!
Thanks for visiting the THD blog today! Feel free to visit me at my blog.

You're a Hoot
Hi everyone it's Lenae here from SugarGem. I wanted to make a little card for my grandma so I used this super cute Lawn Fawn set called Mom + Me. My grandma is probably one of best friends. I love her so much and always have fun with her. She's also really funny so this sentiment is perfect for her.
Other items I used Gina Marie Designs Scalloped Stitched Rectangle, Gina Marie Designs Stitched Hearts, Strathmore Bristol Paper, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Picked Raspberry, Ranger Mini Blending Ink Tool
Thank you for stopping by!
XOXO

We're very excited to announce the winners of Challenge 9. So many absolutely fantastic entries to choose from--you don't make it easy on us!
The winner is #3 Bev of Happy Dance. Bev, your use of the patterned paper to mimic the designs found in the calicos was spot on. And then you go even further and create a pocket like the pillow? Pure genius!
The honorable mentions wowed us too. Congratulations in order of entry to #5, #10, #26, and #30! Everyone, please grab a badge from the top tab if you like.
We hope you all join in the fun and inspire us again! There's still plenty of time to join in our current challenge #10 which runs through March 31. Hope to see you there!

Happy Trails to You
The current THD Challenge 10 showcases all sorts of maps. And what do you find on maps? Roads! Duh. LOL. I also pulled from the featured colors and really went nuts with the green from the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid Rainbow pad--adore! That green makes the SugarPea Designs Log Cabin Mountainscapes Border and sponged clouds created by using the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud Borders pop.
You may notice that the camper is actually the reverse image of what's included in the Avery Elle Glamper Camper set. I've tried my hand at mirror image stamping in the past with less than ideal results. Turns out you quickly kiss the inked stamp to another rather than mash it like I had been doing! And what did I use for the mirror image? The giant heart from the Concord & 9th Heart Smile set. I love stretching my stamps! Why don't you give it a try!

All you need is love and...
_______________________. How would you finish that sentence today? In keeping with our March challenge theme and my recent horoscope, my answer would be 'love and vacation'! It really is time for another get-away--I've been pining for Portland and Astoria, but maybe this time of year, given our wacky March weather, tropical would be better!
Since you've made the trip here today, I'll take you someplace nautical! I used the challenge graphic as inspiration, with the maps and hexagons, but the colors are more primary. Hope you'll be inspired to mix and match some sets from the store, all linked within the text, and play along with us this month!
I cut the majority of my hexagons from the wonderfully heavy, textured Carta Bella Yacht Club paper and took forever to arrange them! The hexagon coverplate was deconstructed and elevated.
The foam glitter heart is cut from Concord and 9th's Layering Leaves die set.
The sentiment on the front of the card is from Neat and Tangled's Perfect Blend set-- that corner just needed something next to the chain, but I didn't want to clutter it up, so a small sentiment worked perfectly. The font also was ideal for the interior sentiment, which is from Kaisercraft's Say Aloha set.
Note the polka dot washi-- echoing the gold polka dots in the challenge pic!
Here's a view of the dimensional nature of the card!
Here's our challenge graphic:
Thanks for spending some time with me today at The Heart Desires!! Happy Spring!
