Stretching your dies!

Hi Friends!  Katie here with another fun card for this month's THD challenge!  Here is our fun and hilarious inspiration board as a reminder:

Here is my card:

As you can see, I honed in on the green and black from the inspiration photo.  Some of these DPs are quite old, but I've held onto them for a long time and it worked out perfectly.  I used the SugarPea Designs stamps and colored them with my Copics.  Now how fun is the use of the Lawn Fawn Wonderful Window Die?!  You wouldn't think to use it in black for something spooky but it works so well.  I simply covered the little heart with a Doodlebug star to set the mood right.

Do you celebrate Halloween?  If so, what are you doing to get ready for it?

I hope you enjoyed this post and hope you will join us for this challenge!

Adulting is Hard!

Hey all, it's Katie.  We all know the Fall Coffee Hop is here!  Woohoo!  I have a fun fall card just for the occasion and here it is.

This pretty much says it all doesn't it?!  Yep, I think so.

This card was so fun to make.  I used a fun variety of products many of which I got straight from the THD Store.  I used some Lawn Fawn Perfect Plaid Fall Pack along with some Pebbles Paper.  I inked up this cute (and mad) kitty from Your Next Stamp- Coffee Right Meow.  I coupled it with Sugar Pea Designs Coffee Words Die and Perfect Blend.  The enamel dots were just the right finish.

I am entering this into the current Your Next Stamps Sketch Challenge.   It is also perfect for the current THD mood board!

Have fun coffee hopping and thanks for the visit!

Cheer Up!

Ever heard that saying, "someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed!"  Well it is true, sometimes it just happens and you can't explain it.  Today I woke up a little crabby but you know what, all is better now 'cause I did a little crafting!!!  The best part is, now I can cheer someone else up too....

Here is my card for this week featuring some Paper Smooches and Avery Elle That Bites stamp set.  Pretty clean and simple for me.  I stamped the swished to represent the water.  I colored this little Angler fish and used a neon gel pen to add the green.  Because you know these guys glow in the deep depths of the sea right?  That is how they attract their prey.  Creepy, but super cool.

The lesson today is that if you are in a bad mood, sometimes the little things (crafting, receiving a card, spending time with friends and family, laughter) can cheer you up instantly.  Give it a try!

Thanks for the visit today!  Feel free to visit me on my blog as well- www.kbstamps.blogspot.com.

Just a little thanks

Hi!  Katie here sharing a fun card today!  I happened to go to a picnic at a friends yesterday and I thought this was the perfect way to say thank you with this cute melon eating hippo as the start of the show.

I started by stamping and coloring the image N&T Beach Day image with my Copics.  She is sooooooo cute, squee.  Once I had that completed I embossed some white cardstock with my We R Memory Keepers- NL Embossing- Quilted folder.  I added a strip of paper from American Crafts Everyday 6X6 pad.  I Cut the sentiment from Little Yellow Bicycle and then used my Ranger Ink Distressed- Picked Raspberry and Ranger Mini Ink Blending Tool to give it that ombre look.  I am pretty pleased with the results.  Anything cute makes me happy.

Also, don't forget to join for our July THD Challenge here.

Thanks for visiting me here today!

Coffee Lovers and THD Challenge

Hey Katie here. When you think of the things you love, what comes to mind?  Probably so many things.  One thing that comes to mind for me on a sunny summer day, is some nice ice cold coffee combined with the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.  And that is just what I have for you today, a fun combo of just those things.

Now I want to get you warmed up, so I am reminding you of what the June THD Challenge is all about.

Now add that with some THD products and some Coffee Fun and here is what you get!

Squee, aren't they soooooo cute?!  I love the little pups trying to get a nice refreshing drink of their favorite beverage.  The only thing better would be for me to shove them over and have the drink myself! ;)

OK, here's the dealio.  I started by stamping out these sweet pups from one of the Hero Arts Lia Griffith sets.  I colored them using my Copics and cut them out using my Scan n' Cut.  Next I picked out this cute Penny Black Love Cup using so fun descriptive DP that is perfect!  I mounted that on the Sugar Pea Stitched Circle Die and in turn mounted that on this DP from American Crafts Sunny Paper Pad.  The sentiment is from ALtenew and the enamel dots are from the Doodlebugs Holly Berries Epoxy Stickers as they were the perfect share of red.

OK, thanks for visiting today, I hope you enjoyed this post, will join the THD Challenge and the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop!

The Sky's The Limit

Hello Friends!  Katie here with a fun card for you today and it starts with the fun Lawn Fawn Wild for You stamp set.

I used the set and colored that sweet giraffe with my Copics.  I set him up with the Lawn Fawn Magic Color Slider Die. The clouds and sentiment are from the Lawn Fawn Blue Skies stamp set, I added a little colors to the clouds to make them pop.  Under the sweet guy is Doodlebug Green Grass Washi Tape which perfectly sets the stage.  Guess what happens when you slide this tab up?!

Isn't he just the cutest!  He absolutely needed this long neck to go with the sentiment.  To make the neck I simply used a ruler and and a Copic fine point pen.  I masked along the edges and took the snow drop from the Lawn Fawn Christmas Snow Globe set to make those perfect circles.  Once colored I added some leaves and fronds from MFT, I added a little extra color to them for depth.

I hope you enjoyed this card and will join us for this month's challenge!

Sliding right into Spring.

Hi friends, Katie here.   I have a fun card to share with you today that goes along perfectly with our current challenge.  Its interactive- yay!  Check it out:

You can't see the slider element in this photo, but watch these cuties as the roll down the hill to visit Mama!

Isn't that just the sweetest thing?!  I think so.

For this I used MFT Stamps, Copics, Doodlebug Designs Spring paper and multiple Lawn Fawn dies.  Among them is the super fun Slide on Over die.  This die make slider cards a cinch!

Just a reminder of the current challenge photo:

Greetings from Seattle

Hey, hey!  Katie here!  What can I tell you, I love the Pacific Northwest.  One big reason is that The Heart Desires store is here- yay!  But also because I love the water and the green trees and so much more.

So today I have a card for you that embodies the PNW.

I used this great textured background.  I used a background die for the sun.  I stamped and colored the boat and added the greeting.  Easy Peasy.

This card features:

This seems appropriate to enter into our current challenge don't you think?!

A-Moos-ing

Howdy THD Fans.  Katie here.  If you are like me, Monday's may not be your favorite day, but hopefully this creation will lift your spirits a little, because it is A-Moose-ing.... (bu-dum-bum!)

OK, I had a TON of fun making this card.  Scenes are my favorite for some reason.  Here is the scoop on how.  I started with the Gina Marie Starry Sky Background die and made the cut with some turquoise paper.  After I cut it I took my Ranger Distress Inks, Mermaid Lagoon and Stormy Sky to darken up the top edges.  After that I backed it with some yellow cardstock, so you can really see the stars shine through.  Next, I layered in some grass using the Lawn Fawn grass die and green cardstock.  I popped it out with some dimensionals.  After that I stamped bits and pieces of the  Lawn Fawn Dad & Me set onto White cardstock.  I used some Momento Black (sentiment and moose), Olive (SU!) and Neon Blue (Hero Arts) for the pool of water, I even came back in and stamped some star reflections on that pool of water.  I colored my moose with Copics and then cut a slit in the middle of my pool so my moose could be nestling right into that water.  Wah-lah, done!  And wouldn't you know, dusk is just when this cute critter would be feeding! :)

So that's all today.  Thank you for stopping by to visit me here and be sure to join us in this month's challenge.

PS- the price point on these Gina Marie dies is pretty amazing, be sure to check it out in the store!

Hugs

Hey all, Katie here.  I was lucky enough to spend time with family and friends this weekend.  among that time I got to hug some very special people and enjoy their presence.  Who doesn't like a good hug?

Speaking of hugs, here's one for all of you out there.

This sweet girls is soooo cute.  She reminds me of my girl, who is 9 but still carries around her teddy bear.

Here is what I did, to start, the sentiment is stamped on watercolor paper.  I used my Ranger Distress ink Electric Lime with my watercolor brush to color the background.  I colored and cut this sweet girl from Neat & Tangled's Better Together Stamp set.   After adding a few darling flower shaped sequins I mounted it over this sweet Designer Paper from American Crafts Everyday Paper Pad.

Have you joined this month's challenge yet?  Hurry, there is still time with this fabulous inspiration photo!

Thanks for your visit!

SNOW place like home

Hello friends.  Katie here!

How many days till Christmas?  T-minus 6 days and counting!  Can you believe it!?!?

Typically we go to visit family during the holidays but we are unable to travel this year.  But, no matter, what place you call home, this card is for you.

This card features the Lawn Fawn Puffy Cloud dies, they help to make the perfect backdrop with this Good Tidings Collection DP from American Crafts.  I love the stitched edge and the colorful snowflakes falling. I inked up the Lawn Fawn Snow Cool stamp set  while using my Hero Arts Intense Black.  I also had some extra images from a few Pretty Pink Posh sets that made the perfect accents, like the bucket and igloo.  I colored it all us using my Copics and added the fun sentiment to remind me of home.

While you are here, you might as well join this month's challenge...  you can find it here!

Thanks for visiting and whatever you celebrate have a wonderful holiday season! ~Katie
