You are FABULOUS!

Kimberly with you today, hopefully enticing you to join our challenge with this bold and colorful one layer card!

I started out with a flat one layer card base and stamped the Neat & Tangled Flamingo Floatie image.  [ I just LOVE these FUN images, don't you?!! ]  I stamped another image on separate piece of cardstock, cut it out and used it to mask as I sponged Ranger Distress Ink Tumbled Glass, and Mermaid Lagoon for the sky and water background.  I Copic colored the image, added the sentiment, also embossing a portion of the sentiment with Hero Arts White Embossing powder on black cardstock with added foam mount tape. some touches with a Signo White Gel Pen, and a little confetti sequin "bling," I was done!

I based my coloring on the current Challenge #14 amazing images and vibrant colors. I sure hope that you are as excited as we are about the AMAZING inspiration challenge boards that The Heart Desires has, the MORE than amazing DT creations, and the SALE and special prizes for the 1 year Anniversary!!!

I look forward to seeing you join us in the Gallery!!

You are my Most favorite

Hi Tonya here letting you know that you still have time to join in on this month's challenge!  It's a super fun one for me as I have always loved maps.  I made this quick and masculine card to give my son.  I always tell him he is my favorite child and he replies "but mom I am your only child!"  He's 28 now and I still say it to him. 😀

I used a map page from the Sail Away Paper Pad and I stamped the sentiment with Hero Arts Unicorn Pigment Ink and then wanted it to have a little more dimension so heat embossed it with clear embossing powder.  I had planned on using the Neat & Tangled Hope Anchors the Soul stamp but grabbed the wrong stamp.  I hate it when I do that.  Too many ideas going around my brain plus a messy craft room = I get sidetracked and things get weird.  Still the card looks good so I'm going with it!  Can you tell I really need a vacation?

Did someone say VACATION?!!  I will be going on Spring Break soon and to celebrate The Heart Desires is having a sale while I am gone.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you will join our challenge you still have four more days to get crafty!

Birthday Layer Cake

Happy February, THD fans!  There's a lot to celebrate today-- a new month, a new challenge here at THD, Groundhog's Day, and... my birthday!  I'm so glad to be sharing it with you, and to sweeten the ocassion, I have a new take on the old Concord and 9th tree ring-- chocolate layer cake!

I stamped the tree rings with Hero Arts Unicorn White ink on Tim Holtz watercolor paper and heat embossed with white powder. Using Brushos, I sprinkled, dappled and painted the rings with the crystals.

I then fussy cut two of the rings and layered them atop the largest ring.

The white embossing is like rings of icing!

I really like these brushos for the variation in colors--the brown Brushos have pink crystals and multiple browns.

Using Altenew's Wild Hibiscus, I adorned my cake with these gorgeous neon pink flowers and the butterfly, which I stamped on vellum, heat embossed, and then fussy cut.  This floral set is going to get so much use--the sketched flowers and butterfly variations are amazing and they will work really well with some of the new Waffleflower selections that Tonya will soon offer in the store. It's also a Mother's Day focued set, a holiday that will be here before we know it!

My centerpiece has been layered atop Neat and Tangled's Hexstar coverplate. Working with the law of thirds, and the last of my beloved Jen Hadfield gilded woodgrain paper, I layered a bit under the coverplate and echoed it with the little sprig-- which is very similar to the Gina Marie leaves Tonya has in store.

I hope you were inspired to use your Concord and 9th Tree Ring in a new way!  Think of the wedding, anniversary, and birthday cake combos you can make with this great stamp, some delicious Brushos, and a variety of adornments!  I think I'll make a 5 vanilla and chocolate layer cake next!

Have a sweet February, and here's to 6 fewer weeks of winter (keep your shadow down Groundhog!).
